Bomb Squad

Bomb squad is functioning directly under the control of District Police Chief, Kozhikode City

During the starting period the unit was under the supervision of District Special Branch. Now it is under the control and supervision of The Asst. Commissioner of Police District Crime Records Bureau Kozhikode City for the smooth functioning.

District Bomb Squad is equipped with One Officer and five men with a full-fledged vehicle. The unit has equipments like metal detectors, NLJD, Explosive Detectors, F P Jackets, RSP Tool Kit etc.

All the staffs in this unit are successfully completed the bomb detection and disposal course under different agencies like NSG, CRPF and PHQ TVPM.

The service of bomb squad is available in 24 hrs . This unit is functioning in a separate office with an equipment room in the premises of District Police Office.

In addition to the normal duties, district Bomb Squad is conducting security awareness classes and exhibitions to the govt. staffs, students and public to create awareness about the modern threats arises in the country.
