In view of increasing cyber-crimes in Kerala, Govt decided to start cyber cells in all Police Districts. As part of this decision Kozhikode City Cyber Crime Enquiry Cell came into existence on 19-08-2008. This Wing provides technical help to the investigating officers for collecting Call Data Records, IP Address details etc. Cyber Cell provides help to the investigating officers for the proper investigation of cyber related matters. Kozhikode City Cyber Cell receives petitions via police stations/higher offices.

Duties of Cyber Cell
CDR Collection & Analysis
Provide technical assistance to the investigating officers relating to Cyber Crimes and other Crimes which need to collect and retrieve technical evidences.
Providing assistance to the investigating officers to seize the computer related properties involved in Crime cases, Analysing data in seized equipments
Attending cyber awareness classes organized by Janamaithri Police, SPC, NSS, IMG, Schools and Residence Associations etc
